I am Sam, the founder of South Coast Weddings, wedding planner and on-the-day coordinator.

I didn’t start out as a little girl dreaming of fairy-tale weddings. In fact, I didn’t know what that fairy-tale was for me at all. In my early career I lived in Canada working as a nanny and went on to work in the charity sector managing volunteers and the charity’s special events.

After eight years, returning to the UK was overwhelming, I still didn’t know what to do. I lived briefly with family in Derbyshire and Wales before returning to the south coast working within the charity sector as a fundraiser and afterwards, for a marketing company. And it is here in Dorset where I first entered the wonderful world of wedding planning.

I started South Coast Weddings in 2015. Combined with my love and skills for working with people, it was the perfect next step. Over 100 weddings later, it turns out weddings were my fairy-tale after all.

When I am not planning weddings, I can be found drinking tea with my husband Mat and dogs Hudson and Mollie. Having said that, my cups of tea have become frequently less hot and less often since our son, Burton, joined us in the world in May 2021.

I love to meet new couples and never forget the joy and privilege I get at meeting them during the most magical and heart-felt time in their lives. There really is nothing more special than watching couples enjoy their wedding day with glorious smiles and peace of mind.
